What is Botox?            

Botox Cosmetic is a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the facial muscles to improve the look of moderate to severe facials lines and wrinkles in adults younger than 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary). 

It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles, which in turn reduces muscle activity that causes facial lines and wrinkles.

Is it painful?

Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injection, you may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes. Most patients are in and out of the physician’s office without downtime. 

Are there any side effects of Botox?

Side effects associated with the injection include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising. 

Other side effects include: 

• dry mouth 
• discomfort or pain at the injection site 
• tiredness 
• headache 
• neck pain 
• eye problems such as double vision, blurred vision, decreased eyesight, drooping eyelids, swelling of your eyelids, and dry eyes 
• allergic reactions; symptoms of an allergic reaction may include: itching, rash, red itchy welts, wheezing, asthma symptoms, or dizziness or feeling faint. 

Make sure to report to the office or get medical help right away if you are wheezing or have asthma symptoms, or if you become dizzy or faint. You should also report if you are experiencing any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away.

What is the Botox treatment process?

The treatment process is simple. Here's what you might expect at the doctor's office from the moment you arrive until your procedure is done.
